“I named this quilt Skulls and Roses because I wanted people to see that something macabre could be made into something beautiful. The design spoke to me right away—I saw a pool of roses surrounded by delicate white flowers. It turned out exactly like I had imagined. Notice how the first border is actually in the main body of hexagons and keeps the outside border from overpowering the design.”
